Srdar and The ITC United States Supplemental Cigarette Pack Collection
Senior Research Specialist Brian Fix discusses the ITC United States Supplemental Cigarette Pack Collection. The research scientists utilized the Survey Research and Data Acquisition Resource center at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The Srdar team collected data by telephone interviews, asking the participants to send their unopened pack of cigarettes to the research study in order for the scientists to examine behavioral responses to the recent increase in the federal excise tax. Out of 912 initial participants 80% percent provided a pack of cigarette for the research study. The packs were examined and classified based on tax stamp, descriptors and warning labels. Srdar’s experience and flexibility helped the research team to implement a novel yet complex research protocol.
Srdar or the Survey and Research Data Acquisition Resource center is located At Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. Andrew Hyland is the director.
